Academic Systems, Innovation, and Experience

The office of Academic Systems, Innovation, and Experience is responsible for services and systems, such as the student information system (CaneLink), learning platforms (e.g., Blackboard), computer labs, student technology support, instructional design, and improving the student experience with technology. In addition, we explore and develop applications of new technologies that enhance teaching and learning, such as artificial intelligence and student success models.

Academic Technologies 

  • The Academic Technologies teams work closely with faculty and students on projects related to teaching and learning. They are responsible for functions such as physical and virtual computer labs, student technology support, instructional design, faculty development, online learning platforms, enhancing the student technology experience, and exploring technologies that enhance online and technology-enriched courses. CaneLink Support Services 

  • CaneLink Support Services manages the University's student information system, CaneLink. This team is responsible for architecture, development, testing, and support in production of the CaneLink system. Each CaneLink team is responsible for implementing and maintaining the student information system, which:
    • Ensure the integrity of mission critical student data
    • Ensure business processes supporting the application are streamlined and include sound internal controls 
    • Ensure business processes are consistent with "best practices" 
    • Ensure integrations to and from CaneLink are robust and appropriate 
    • Ensure the use of self service is optimized in a secure and easy to use environment
